My daughter helps with an annual auction to raise funds for the Nan Pipestem Wildlife Rehabilitation Center  www.npwrf.org  , very much a shoestring operation. Kev very kindly gave permission for me to use one of his patterns for a piece for the auction. I still have to make the cedar frame, but here's the glass. Thanks again, Kev! The animals are very grateful!

That came out great Tre. How big did you make it ? I made mine the 24 x 30, so with a border would be bigger. I like the bevels.

Thank you all. Diane, I made it 20x25 (the glass) , because I wanted to finish it in the wood frame, and I didn't want to make it so big that people would think it was too big for their windows (for the auction) .

that came out nice -- I really like the bevel border and a cedar frame should set it all off nicely

I hope it does well for them. They don't expect as generous a crowd as usual this year because of the economy, and this place runs on public donations. The wildlife center has the usual suspects.. injured hawks, coyote pups, foxes, stuff like that..

Beautifully done Tre!  I'll bet Kev will be absolutely delighted with your perception of his design...looks great.  I love the Bevel corners also!  Congratulations on the finish of a very nice piece, I'm sure that the Wildlife Center will be "wild" over it!  I certainly hope it brings in a nice amount of money for them!

The choice of glass for the rocks is great. They look so real. Very nice piece.

Actually at the time of the auction, the overall bidding was so limited (bad economy) that the auctioneer pulled it and they will use it with this next year's fundraiser in March.  Really disappointing but no use giving it away..

Tre that was good of the auctioneer to do that.  A lot of times when you donate something their attitude is, well we will take what ever cause it was free.  I have seen beautiful furniture go for as little as $10.00 at auctions, one in particular was a beautiful hutch that was 6 feet long and had awesome glass doors in it.  Wish I had had room for it myself

You DO want to get what it is worth. I agree it was a good move on his part.

Yes, that's awesome that he did that Tre!  You did a fabulous job and they should get what it's worth and not settle!
Maybe things will be better next year!  Here's to hoping anyway. Plus it gives people time to tell all their friends about the wonderful piece of SG they saw...that should encourage some good bids next time!
