Well when I opened my mouth and suggested we make homemade gifts for the adults I must have been on drugs. Anyway along with the 2 polish falcons (still needing to be framed) I decided to make 2 fused plates with the grandkids handprints for the moms....What a disaster after 2 botched attempts I finally settled for these two. I had seen a plate on the spectrum site that you cut the handprints from the fiber paper and cover with frit well after 2 tries they cracked so I just used the fiber paper without the frit and although I got a few bubbles they came out good. The butterfly fan lamp was also fused this one was promised a while ago. Last put not least my daughter asked for a mirror....not a little mirror either. This is going to be about 34 " and will not be fnished by the holidays because I need more of the gold color glass for the middle. Thanks, Kev for your help with this. I need the rest of the few days left to get the house ready for the invasion of my son, his wife and the 3 kids and their dog which should be here Thursday. If I say this again next year please

My...you have been a busy gal. I like your hand prints better without the frit...they turned out well. The butterfly looks really nice. I like how it turned out. The sun is going to be nice as well.

Wonderful. I love the hands. I had thought of doing hands too. But I was thinking of rubbing the kids hands in paint and firing it. We will see.
I love these!

Thanks guys, I love the handprint idea and although not what I wanted from the beginning I feel they came out OK. Just hope the Moms feel the same way.

Di I love the hand print idea.
I am working on a book for my granddaughter (Kate) and I drew her hand with my hand. The name of the book is "Nana was little like Me" It is all about how I did the same things she did. She loves hearing stories about when I was little, and about her Mother, brother and sister being little too. That is what gave me the idea for the book. When I finish it and publish it, I'll post the link.

That is so wonderful, Joan. I'm sure kids never think about things like that. It should really help kids relate to adults better.
