I have a Skutt kiln that is 8+ years old.  The first year I had it a good many of the pins fell out but the ledge in the channel held the elements just fine...no drooping.

I, personally, wouldn’t try to push any drooping elements back into the channel.  Elements become brittle over time and you take the risk of breaking the elements.  I certainly wouldn’t take a blow torch to them!
