I'm not sure you'll get a very large one in that price range. What do you currently have Marsha?

How much did you pay for your current kiln? Just curious because it looks like that one ranges between 500 to 700 in cost so I don't know if you can find a new one that fits you size requirements and budget. Are you able to up your budget some? http://www.delphiglass.com/glass-kilns-accessories/medium-kilns/skutt-gp706-kiln

Keep looking I lucked out with my Jenken which is 18 x 11 and I paid 650.00 but had to travel to NC to get it. I love it and the size is big enough for now. If I hear of something I let you know.

Since most kilns have a very long life, the best value is to buy second hand.  You will get a lot more kiln for your money than buying new, and you may be able to trebbel your kiln size for your budget.

When there is snow, like now...not very far!

Keep watching the List. And maybe put up a want ad somewhere. There are lot's and lot's of kilns in the northwest. And many folks are hurting there right now. Advertize. I have a dear friend in Woodinville area that may know of one. I will write him.

I check Craigs list often for a new front loading kiln.  Not to many of those available.  If you are looking for a top opening kiln there are a lot on Craigslist.

I posted an ad to Craigs List.   One guy already answered me but neither kiln has a controller.  I need a controller!

If the price is right you can always add a stand alone controller.  Just a thought!

You'll have to do some research but I think they can go for $350 and up.  Here's a couple of links that will give you an idea.

Yikes!!!

Maybe so but if you can pick up a used kiln for a couple hundred you’ll still be within your budget adding a 3 key stand alone controller. Considering that the starting price of a larger new kiln with a controller is going to be above your budget it doesn’t sound so bad.

I have to confess I was being stingy with the budget so I could get a mold or two and some glass!
