This is going to be my next project done in lead. It's a variation of the Spiral Galaxy design I previously posted.

As you can all tell or probably had figured out previously...I do love my black glass...LOL

Neat project, Kev. I expect great things.
Don't forget that with black and darker blues, the lead completely vanishes so pay attention to continuity of line as you design....and don't forget to have fun! - Tod

I think I understand what your saying Tod.

This is what I expect it to look like when done...the lighter lines in the previous pic were for illustration purposes so people could see the construction. I'm actually wanting the lines to disappear in the black so the green appears to be floating if that makes sense.

I seen a lamp that someone did with a black background with a flower design, that is what I loved about it because the flowers seemed to float and the colors just popped. I think this will have the same effect.

The colors may vary somewhat depending on what I have in my already sizable stash of glass.

Oh, Kev, I love it.  I will be very dramic.  The rose reminds me of oragami roses.

Is this a gift or will it be yours

I thought that as well about the origami thing. I suspect I will try to sell it if I can. Not sure if the colors will all be the same for the rose. I have a sheet of Aubergine muffle glass I might use for the darker rose color.

You could certainly cut it up and fuse it all together as well.

A few slight changes made to a few of the lines in the black outer region, and added a bit of pale aqua to the spiral region.

I am more than happy to share this pattern with any member if you desire it.

Kev, I love the way the green seems to just float. It will be a great piece and I look forward to seeing the finished pic.

Here is the final revision. I was a little concerned about the length and narrowness of the spiral arms and the potential for them to crack, so I shortened them. I also removed a few more lines to simplify it and make it less busy.

This is the color combo I will strive for. I have most of this glass already, so that's a help. The outer ring is pale amber "Vecchio" (one of my favs), the inner ring is steel blue water glass, the spiral arms are sea green artique or might be rough rolled..not decided yet. The rose is deep purple waterglass and pink rough rolled. the greens will probably be medium green and moss green, ....something with a texture.

Hi Kev,
Would you mind if I used your pattern as a starting point to try to design a pattern of the Yorkshire Rose?  I have a friend who I think would go "gaga" if I gave him a Yorkshire Rose piece for his birthday.  Anne would know who I mean.

No problem...do you want me to send you the pattern? If so, what format do you want it in? pdf, jpg, or eye?
