This is my new method of signing my art glass. I designed the logo today and sandblasted it onto the back of the new appetizer sets. The umbrella is representative of the Urban Rain panel which I adopted as my icon.

I've heard of signing with a fine tip silver sharpie applied before slumping. Does anyone know if that will hold up in a dishwasher? If it does, then I could just apply the stencil, color it in, remove the stencil and fire. Easier than covering the whole piece in masking tape to blast such a small area.

I know Becki uses that method a lot Kev, she'll know!

Your siggy is great! I just do a version of the chicken scrawl with my name and year *lol, I do use a silver marker to sign on the slump cycle but for the most part I don't put my pieces in the dishwasher so I have no idea if it will take the heat.

I use an extra fine tip silver Pilot  marker to sign my initials to my work before slumping.  I haven't been able to scrub one off yet but have never put a piece in the dishwasher so I don't know if it will hold up or not. I don't recommend the dishwasher to my customers so I've never tried it.  Maybe you should give it a go on a scrap piece and see what happens!

Thanks guys. I might just try that Becki. I've looked for that marker before but could bot fine it. I have the regular silver sharpie the fat type. Is it the same with the only difference the width of the point, or is the one you use a specific type or name?

I get mine at Staples.  Delphi used to carry them...not sure if they still do.

Sharpies are iffy.  It seems that they burn off when you don't want them to and don't when you do!  Give it a go!

Very classy logo Kev.

I like the idea of an element being part or all of the logo.

Years ago there was a man named "Hart" who did beautiful Tiffany styled lamp shapes, usually Tiffany pattern designs.  He always incorporated a heart shaped glass glob somewhere in his pieces.  A friend of mine has 2 of his shades.

That's really neat idea. It could be any shape or color, but used consistently in every piece.
