The center portion of one of the boxes I made (first one in this thread http://artisansofglass.com/index.php/topic,2323.msg37773.html#msg37773) looked pretty good just sitting on my light box - so I put some bevels around it and came up with this:

Not foiled - leaded with zinc came border.

Thanks everyone - it was a fun piece to do.

Darn!  I can never get my zinc miters to look that good.
Harbor Freight 2" Chop saw and a good hot iron with some flux and a LITTLE solder does the trick for me (practice helps too), and perhaps being a gas (oxy-acetylene) welder on sheet metal and steel plate in a past life may help too.

Love this one, Alan -- full of movement, yet simple lines.

I have that little Harbor Freight saw too, and will be using it again tonight to cut brass rods for harp strings.  Makes a lot of noise, but does the job well.
