is there a simple way of knowing/ finding out which side of a sheet of glass is the flashed/coloured side. I don't see it just by looking!
thanks.

You can see the flashed part by viewing the glass on the edge.  That is, look directly at the edge of the glass and you should see the flashed part on one side of the glass.

You gotta an answer for everything!  Why don't you write a book?

That's not the first time that question has been asked.
I don't have a flip answer. I've just never wanted to,
unless it's to be a novel. Writing the truth is no fun.
I guess I could write a stained glass book that was all
bull-poop, but that's already been done - several times.

You can also use your gorzers to nip a little glass off the edge.  It will show which side has the colour too.

I think you should put all of your tips and pictures in a book.  You could do it at Lulu or whatever it is.  It would be cool to have them all in one place.

Me too! With the three of us willing to buy them, you might earn enough for a tank of gas for your boat. Who know's?

Sure.  As soon as I can find them.  In the meantime try some grozers to see if they work.  :-)

Hi Wayne,
I didn't have any joy scrutinising the edge of the glass, the two surfaces were slightly different but it was not clear which was which. All that was clear was i was getting crosseyed and cross.
Grinding a surface is now blindingly obvious... for such advice I give thanks.
Yep a book would become the bible for glassmakers. That's another sale!
Thank You People

See there, Graham. Then we could say, "My friend, the inimical Graham, in his earth-shattering tome 'Stained Glass Hints and Tips,' says..."

You can do it for free on Lulu, so the only investment is time.
