I finished making a few votive candle holders, playing with something that I haven't done before, and really like them. Mailed a few off to some family members as a thank you gift for a wine and cheese they hosted for the mister and myself.

The wire was verrryy interesting *lol, I had bought copper wire ages ago at a hardware store before I new you could find it at a glass store allready tinned. So I spent a long time tinning wire for the votives, lessons learned eh *l!

Oh those are so nice Amber...I like them all, but am particularly partial to #3, and #4.  The wire work is a very nice addition and your soldering looks very good!  I'm sure that all of the recipients of these very pretty votives are going to be tickled!

What a great idea... taking a simple box-type candle holder and making them special and funky with some abstract wire work!
You really do some nice work, Amber, I'm glad you're willing to share!

Amber, a very dumb question...how do you wax and polish up the votives without bending the wires up?  They look fairly fragile.  Any secret?   They are very cool-looking - nice work!

Really it's just about time. I was patient when it came to soldering and tried to .......well, stretch it tight almost to minimize any floppy wire. Also having the droplets of solder at cross joints helped with that, after that it was just polishing in front of the t.v. and taking my time with it. I used just a basic liquid finishing compound, when you say wax you might be using something different and thicker?

Hey, it's an old post and I used photobucket to upload them usually after 5-6 months I go and reorganize my account so I don't have thousands of pics building *L. Here's a couple pics I saved to my computer since then...
