Nor have I.  Although I usually put a thin layer of glue over the entire surface.  My experience with it is only ten years, but I have never had a problem.

OK, while I'm searching the archives, this thread begs me to ask some of my questions right here!

I'm planning a glass-on-glass mosaic... well, there will be some ceramic-on-glass, also. I'd like to include some pieces of either glass or ceramic (broken plates, mostly) which could be very roughly 4" square or so. I'd perfer that it be fairly weather-resistant, too.

I'm searching for recommendations about which glue(s) would be best to use. I have been testing with Liquid Nails' clear silicone, bought a small bottle of Weldbond yesterday (@ hardware store) and have used GE & similar clear silicone on many projects in the past - just not so large. Total project to be about three sq ft. I know, that's not large for many of you....

I'm going back to reading. Thanks for any suggestions y'all may have. I suspect there will be several different opinions.

I've heard good things about Mac glue. For one, it's crystal clear and supposedly stays clear.

The Mac I have used has turned yellow.  And I have had trouble with it holding in some applications.

I have always had good luck with Weld Bond.  I probably wouldn't use it outside if I were not going to grout.  But I have had several pieces outside for ten years that used WeldBond and were grouted.  One of these is a concrete picnic table that is about five feet long.  I originally intended to use tile and grout sealer on them every year, but only managed to do it once or twice.  The table and four benches sit outside year 'round.  I also have a concrete bench here at the shop that has been outside for six years.  The only problem it has had is skate-boarders.

MAC glue doesn't turn yellow.  Most silicone products will turn yellow and one should always call the phone number on the tube to find out

OK!! It's time for a major study. How can a glue turn yellow for some and not for others, Somebody's either seeing or not seeing things or there are different conditions of some kind.

I've never used Mac Glue, myself. but I've seen this difference of opinion before, and it's got my interest.

Ok Graham, since you came up with the idea, I think you should do the major study.  Anyone agree?

I will send him the MAC glue.  I have six 8-ounce bottles, how many do you think you will need?
