Rebecca, allow me to introduce Got.  She is a Mexican Red Knee Tarantula.  You can borrow her and use her for a model.  Just be certain you don't move too quickly since she gets scared easily and loves to land (and cover) ones face.   She is, after all, ten inches across.  I forgot to say she is really stubborn and will not come when you call her!

If you don't like spiders, you can make them with three body segments and six legs and call them ants and they are cute and sell well, too.  I have also made bees.

Rebecca
pictures?

I don't know if I have any pictures, but I will look.

I have made spiders and butterflys when I was doing wire wrap jewelry.  This is what they looked like.  They have pins on the underside to make them brooches.
