Finished this yesterday and it's a little bigger then the last one. 12" round. Glass i had so no shopping, artique I think it's called.

Thanks for the compliments. This is the second one that I made and it got a little easier. Had a heck of a time remembering where I put the pattern that I had made up. My hubby is going through the steps for this and it will be for him when he gets official.

Thanks and he is happy that I made it for him. All said and done when it was all finished and polished he asked me if I could put the markings on for the ruler!! Not this time I said so I feel like I left something out, oh well.

Just an idea........ what if you cut very thin strips of foil and taped them on the ruler and then did a fast tin on them? Just an idea, and you would have to be real careful with them but it might make you happier.

I wouldn't do it. To do a good job it's not going to be fast. And the little pieces of foil are going to try to float and move around. And then you are going to mess up your pretty solder beads. By the time you fix them and patina everything all over again, it would have been easier just to let me beat him. Rebecca
