I've been away from glass for a little while so I thought I'd ease back into it by finishing this decal piece which may go to one of the farrier associations for their silent auction.  Not sure whether I'm going to slump it or have Joe make a stand.  Any thoughts?

So cool! I'd love to see a stand for it, not that it wouldn't look great slumped too but I'm really partial to your wrought iron and glass combos.

I got some of those decals too from the link you gave me ( I still can't thank you enough for sharing it with me! ). I ordered a few horses, flowers and ones I can't even remember, just waiting for it to arrive in the mail *smiles*.

Thanks, Amber.  I'm leaning more towards the stand too.

You'll enjoy the decals.  They're very detailed and easy to work with.

Yes, that IS very nice, some lucky person will just love to have that Becki.  I'd vote for the beautiful stand also!

Becki,

I'm for the stand as well. However, I do have to ask what would slumping do to the decal, would it lose its clarity?

Slumping won't hurt the decal at all, LA....it will be just as you see it now.

Oooh, then I don't know, might be kind of nice to have a bowl or plate with that decal on it to use when entertaining with a bunch of "horse folk" around... a series of them would be cool too...

While I really like the stand idea most farriers work 'on the  road' so likely won't have the piece in a stand in an office for anyone to see.  However if the piece was slumped it would have varied uses in the farriers home. Can you get a farrier's input Becki?

Well, I just got back from a lunch meeting with my blacksmith.  There was talk of horseshoes and possibly horseshoe nails to hold the glass.  This could be interesting!

I think I can, Anne...at least that's what Joe tells me he's doing with his mornings!  wink  He still does horses for some of our long standing clients.  You're right about farriers spending most of their time on the road but most of the ones I know have an office too so it can work either way.

Cool, now if I'd thought about it a bit I'd have realized that's part of what Joe does! The horseshoe idea really is a good one. Thankfully you have a blacksmith with some imagination that will work with you :).

I guess I shouldn't complain too much.  The names on the list ahead of me are paying customers.

I love the idea of framing it with horse shoeing stuff . It could be on a stand or made to hang in a window.
