The Learning Curve

As you can tell..I still have a lot to learn with this process. With this piece I attempted to try doing some shading. Now..not having read anything or watched any demonstration..it's kinda hard to know what to do...but play I do. As you can see in this piece, the only thing that appears shaded it eh road, even though I removed different parts of the stencil at different times and varied the distance from the nozzle to the glass. I also decreased the pressure of the blast for the road, so that seems to have had the most impact from what I can see at this point.

Does the pattern look familiar? It's Hollyhock cottage..one of the, if not the first pattern I did using GlassEye a few years ago. It's kind of neat to know all my patterns I can adapt for blasting.

Now the other screw up's with this piece (there always seems to be at least one thing I screw up...LOL), the lettering FPGW's should have been placed on the stencil in mirror image so  the glass could be viewed from the back which is where you see more definition.

I was initially doing this to try blasting the design and then cutting it into 4 coasters, but I strongly suspect that because there are deeper etched lines that would run over the cut line, it might not break as I hope..so now it is a small picture or trivet.

Nice job Kev, that's pretty!  Sounds like you're having fun with this new medium and your "playing" is turning out some really nice new creations!
