Nice coasters Kev.  Great minds think alike don't they.  LA is doing coasters, and I came home from vacation thinking about coasters too!  Too funny!

those coasters are really neat.

Here is an idea, how about each coaster being an element to a picture that you only see if they are all stacked up? Like a ocean theme, lighthouse on one coaster a sail boat on one rocks and water on one and clouds and birds and all stacked up its a picture. OK I'll shut up now.  laugh

Funny when you guys said it must be coaster week *lol! I have a finished set on the counter, a set in the kiln that are juuuusst about done and 4 more sets on the table waiting to take their turns :). I'm hoping they'll be nice sellers with Mum's day coming up so I'm trying to have a few sets on hand for the upcoming shows.

I'm always curious, do you guys use one layer of glass or two layers and then put your design on top??

I use 2 layers of glass. I use a clear base with the design on top. I usually flip mine and use the underside as the functional side because of the slight texture. I find it not as slippery and will keep the glass in place better.....even thought the shiny side is usually prettier, the underside is quite nice as well.
