This is my fourth leaded piece-and the first one where I was really confident in what I was doing (mostly).

I used the thinner (3/16") lead on the interior, with the regular 1/4" lead on the frame.

I think I could have simplified my glass choices and cut out one or two of the different glasses.  It looks fine the way it is, but it would have looked fine with fewer choices too (but I did use up some scrap that has been laying around and taunting me).

On the other hand, this is my first lead piece where the straight lines were, well, straight.  So that is a big positive!

I did give my hand a nice slice with one of the blue pieces.  Ouch, ouch, ouch.  It wouldn't be so bad if I could get a bandage to stick there and keep from reopening it and jostling it every 5 minutes or so.   rolleyes

Looking good. Congratulations. I did one fairly successfully, and the first and third attempt I threw out. You are doing great.

Yes, glass does tend to get a little nasty if not handled with care (my finger tips are still recovering from a marathon grinding session a couple of weeks ago - to say nothing about my thumbs).

Beautiful job BTW

I like the colors Lynn, I think it came out great.   Hope your cut heals soon for you, I know how annoying it is.

That's a real nice piece.  I just finished my 2nd lead class and one of the students made one somewhat similar but with much different colors.  I really like that pattern.  I will post pics of my 2nd piece when I can get the camera back from my son.  Hopefully today or tomorrow.

Lynn:
Nice job. Good lines; the solder joints are not attention-grabbing.
The Victorians used similar (mixed) color choices often enough; the fleur-de-lis feels pretty authentic to me. - Tod

Lynn, this is a really nice panel and the glass choices are great. For only a fourth piece I think you're doing fantastic. Congratulations.

I am so proud of you! This is lovely.

My lead will arrive Friday a week from tomorrow. Then I too will try it.

Last week I reached in to a bin and the glass bit back hard. I never found the culprit and it is still healing. It is cranky stuff sometimes. Hope you heal fast.

You did a great job on this Lynn!  It's beautiful!  And did I mention that blues and all of their variations are my absolute favorite color!

I say it's an awesome job for your 4th lead project!!

Blues are stunning, you might think you overdid the pattern but I could live with that!
Isn't lead fun, bet you do a lot more now.
Seems to be a week for injuries, I stabbed myself pulling out a weed, something akin to Bamboo, went clear though my thumb! Missed the bone but came to a stop against the back of my nail!

Ouch Y..that one made me cringe..I certainly hope that you went somewhere to have someone take a look at that and I hope it's healing well. That must have been terribly painful...sorry to hear it..yikes.

Suddenly my clean little slice doesn't hurt as much.  That hurts my fingers just to read about (and gives me another reason to dislike yardwork/gardening-aside from the fact that plants die in my presence).

Thanks everyone-I am pleased with how it came out.  I suppose overdoing it on the colors is better than underdoing it!
