My sister has had a life long battle with polycystic kidney disease, she had a transplant several years ago that failed and went back on dialysis. Last week she was lucky enough to have another kidney transplant. I made this to honor her and the organ donation and transplant program. So far everything is going perfect for her.

Ohhh, she' love it Gretchen!  I hope that all goes well for your sister, there is actually a neighbor of mine who had a kidney transplant several years ago, she's doing extremely well and is out and about, babysits her grandkids and does just about everything I can think of, including taking care of 2 huge Golden Retrievers and a cute little Yorkie!

I'm certainly hoping that your sister has the same luck as my friend/neighbor!

It's a beautiful panel, she will love it. I have to admit my heart jumped up into my throat when I read your post. I have a niece (13) and nephew (9) who were both born with PKD.

Gretchen this looks wonderful.  My Mom had a kidney transplant and was so much better for it. It gave her a new lease on life and being tied to a dialysis machine was not good.  I pray that you sister has a new lease on life now.

I am glad her new one is cooperating . I hope she continues to do well.

I have never seen mosaic added to the edge of a lead window. The glass looks like stones, That is very cool!

It's really lovely Gretchen and like many of the others I have a very good friend that's been living with her transplanted kidney for many many years.  Hope this is successful for your sis and I wish all of you the best.

Your sister is very fortunate to be having a 3rd kidney, incrediblely fortunate
and it's wonderful that you are honoring this major event!!!
Your border lends a softness, and at first glance I thought you had used beach glass
but know it wasn't.

I've always liked confetti glass.
