People have been asking us about Boron Nitride sprays. We finally have some information to share.
For those who haven't heard of this product, Boron Nitride works like a mold primer or kiln wash. It prevents hot glass from sticking to ceramic molds and stainless steel. What's even better: One of the ways it is packaged is in a spray can, so it is really easy to apply.
We found one that gave us consistent results: ZYP Lubricoat. You can buy it from us (
http://www.colourdeverre.com/zyp) or directly from the manufacturer, ZYP Coatings.
Boron Nitride is wonderful stuff, but it isn't an end-all-be-all. There are some disadvantages. See our write-up, "Advanced Priming with Boron Nitride Aerosol," in our website's project ideas section (
http://www.colourdeverre.com/projectideas).
Best,
Larry
