We finished and installed the Irish Harp window recently, and it's time to post a picture.  The owners of the Irish Heritage Center are very pleased, and we've happy things turned out so well with this installation.

Many thanks for the generous suggestions and recommendations offered by all of you here -- this is truly a great place to learn something new.

Hope this picture goes through..............

That looks great,  Tina!   How did you do the harp strings in the end?   And the black symbols,  are they painted on or fused?   Whatever, - the overall effect is great!

Really appreciate your nice comments

My husband Barry painted all the black detailing on the harp freehand -- he even did two coats of the Vitrea black so it would cover better.  Then we baked the pieces in the oven for 40 minutes on cookie sheets -- kept wondering why we couldn't "smell the cookies baking" :)

We tried several widths of wire, but couldn't get them straightened out enough to use.  So, we went with Wayne's suggestion of the brass rods from Lowe's -- they worked like a charm, and you can even "pluck" the three longest strings.  Will definitely use them again in other projects, and will highly recommend them to others.

Many thanks again for all your support!!!

BTW:  We'll be two of the four judges tomorrow morning at the big St. Patrick's Day Parade in Downtown Cincinnati -- Barry's VP of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, and they always open the parade.  Chance of rain has decreased, and temps should be in mid-50's -- St. Patrick should be smiling down on us!

It looks great!  Good information about the brass rods to keep in mind for projects requiring straight "strings" that won't be bent out of shape easily!

What a nice job the two of you did!!
