Well, in spite of the visit from a friend and my son, I finally got this finished just in time for Olivia's Sweet 16 party today for some friends of mine.
Olivia likes pink..so the background glass behind the invitation is a pink streaky.  I hope that they will like this.  Olivia's invitation has a daisy and piece of ribbon attached..so I made an attempt to re-create the daisies in all four corners of the frame.  Now to deliver it to the Grandparents!
As usual..I need to have someone else photograph my work for me..I'm a lousy photographer. LOL

Turned out great.  Did you sandwich the invitation between  the glass?

Scooch, what I do with frames usually, is make the face of the frame including whatever I decide looks best for the edging..then on the back side, solder around the clear glass relatively flatly and using a piece of u zinc and my handy dandy lil notcher..you could always just cut v's...I take the piece of glass (or cardboard, a photo frame backer) and put the u zinc along one edge, making a mark at the edge of the first corner, notch it...go around the next corner the same way and cut it off at the right length when you reach the other side.  Place the zinc around the glass, or whatever you may want to use for a backing and tack solder it to the back side of the piece.  I usually tack it at each top side...in the center of each side..the corners and the middle of the bottom.  (I should draw a picture..but I'm not as good at that as some people on the forum...lol) This way I've found the paper or photo that will be used in the project won't get wet from cleaning it piece up...it's also removable, so whomever the gift recipient is can change the photo if they'd like.

Also...the soldering isn't all that good...the wavy portions are "New Wave" foil. Which in this instance, since it is being given to a 16 yo..well I just thought it looked like a younger person's frame with the New Wave.  It's fun to use on occasion.

D, that came out really nice.  What a great gift item.  Love the flowers too, they give that extra little touch to make it stand out from other glass frames.  And the petals point to the subject matter.  Great job

Thanks for everyones comments!  It was a pretty simple little piece to do and I was happy to create it for my dear friends..who LOVED it.  Thought it was just perfect for this occasion and happily took it away last night to present to their granddaughter.  They paid me waaaay more than I felt it was worth...and said to consider it a down payment on whatever piece they commission me for next.
These wonderful friends have at least 3 pieces of my SG in their home already..and I wouldn't be surprised if they did ask me to do something else for them..which is always a pleasure.  Gotta love friends!

Thanks again, De
