I can't wait to see it in the light also!!
Thanks everyone for the nice comments, I have the back half soldered, but I'm taking a break, back is hurting, and, most importantly, we are having Gabrielle (our granddaughter) as an overnight guest.  Can't wait, she is so much fun and husband is a totally different person when she is around, all smiles and laughter - its wonderful.
This giraffe just may have to go to her home and hang in her other bedroom window across from "Gabrielle's Jungle".

Well...........she was done, I was getting ready to put the frame on it.........and.........the project has now become a repair, and its a major repair....I am so upset.
I have to completely remove all the background pieces since I broke three of them and I don't have any glass for repairs, and find another sheet or two of some other background, and I have to replace the beige part of the face and one horn.  I am so mad.....if you couldn't guess, it slipped out of my hands while I was flipping it  ............. ughhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Oh Honey!!!!!!!!!!! I am soooooooo sorry.

Walk away from it for awhile.

Let's go get a soda with something special in it and go shopping or something. Have you been watching the Olympic skiers today? Don't think about that thing we won't talk about right now.

Thanks for the hugs and suggestions....I am leaving it alone, for now!  I'm taking a piece of the background glass to my local glass shop to see if he can identify the make and model and order some of it for me.  I think I got this at Armstrong Glass on the trip Theresa, Lisa and I made a couple of years ago, but I didn't see it on their site.
Having the grandbaby over this weekend helped, she was a wonderful distraction!

Awwh I'm so sorry Evelyn, and I agree with all of the advice..take a few days away from it, sounds like you will if you need to ID the glass and reorder it.

It just plain sucks when that happens.

Drat it, recently I was working on a piece and had cut a pretty tricky piece of glass..was happy with myself because I'd managed to get it cut without breaking it...guess what....I dropped that piece on the nice hard tile floor..shattering it..didn't do it just once either..the air WAS blue..darned clumsy of me..but that's the way it goes sometimes.  Maybe I should just work with knitting/yarn.....

If it was one of those large sheets you probably got it in the "outlet" section and there may not be a match. I looked in my stash I have one large blueish piece left but it is hard to tell if it's the same color. Mine looks a bit darker but you are welcome to it if it's the same.
