Anyone looking to add some of the spirit glass to their inventory, may be interested in the special that Y glass is running.  As you know that glass is costly, but this special will give you 4  12x12 pieces, (they pick the colors) for a little more than the price of one piece.

Please note that the description of this glass in the link states that "Some of the glass in this pack may not be 90 C.O.E."  None of it will be!

I would think not considering Spectrum makes COE 96. Why would they even say that to begin with?

I didn't post the info about the COE, because it was clearly stated and any warm glass person was so warned.  I wouldn't know one COE from another, but do know that this pack will save sg people so Doe ray me, if they are in the market for sririt glass

I don't know, but I'm thinking that all COE 90 colors are the same as the regular glass colors that they match. If Spectrum made the same color in 2 different types of glass then they would need to make double runs of glass and stock twice as many sheets. It does not seem cost effective.
BUT DON'T TAKE MY WORD FOR IT. Just a thought

That makes sense Vic, but Spectrum non fusible and Spectrum 96 glass is NOT compatible, so they obviously have different formulas. Not sure about 90COE, don't use it.

I'm confuddled, that's maybe why my kiln is stil in the box.
If my memory serves Spirit and Opal swirls were always advertised as fusable and come in the 96 assortment packs. Maybe they are selling off broken Tglass packs.

Come out of your confuddlement, Y! Spirit and Opal Art are fusible glasses made by Spectrum.  That's not to say they can't be used in traditional stained glass but they are definitely fusible...and 96COE, not 90.

Becki is right, but they're sold as fusible glass.  There is a lot of the Spectrum line that is non fusible, so one doesn't want to be combining (fusing) non fusible and fusible glass - and both types come in the same colors as well.  Fusible glass comes from the factory with a fairly large Spectrum 96 label on it, and the sheets I get from my supplier have those stickers on both ends of the sheet. Non fusible glass can be bought in 8 sq ft sheets, fusible glass sheets are half that size (from my supplier anyway, and I think that's the standard size).  So....if you're wanting to buy non fusible glass be sure that's what you're getting.  If you want fusible glass and the sheet doesn't have the Sys 96 sticker on it don't buy it!

I just checked the ad. "Spectrum Spirit Glass Pack, This is a pack of 4 random 12"x12" Spectrum Spirit glass sheets. Some of the glass in this pack may not be 90 C.O.E."

I would not buy from these folks. Spectrum only sells coe 96, not 90, as compatible glass. They don't know what they are talking about, or it is a tragic type O.

Spectrum tests every run of system 96 for exact coe. I know the guy who does it  smiley . I am sure there are times that a run is off and they sell it with their regular glass at a cheaper price. But anything with the "Tested compatible, System 96" sticker on it can be trusted.

This ad sounds too fishy to me. If I buy, I want 4 sheets of tested fusible glass.

Judy, this pack is fine for SG panels.  I have bought glass from them countless times along with supplies and found them to be very good.  I buy all the glass they call textured along with my solder and foil from them and to date after over 4 years have never had one issue with them.  So to say for everyone not to buy from them is a bit strong.

Warm glass people are so warned about the glass and has anyone considered that the reference to the COE could very well be no more than a typo.

Yglass.com is a good retail outlet.  Spectrum Spirit is Coe 96.  I think they, Yglass,  are heading off problems that Kev had with COE and look a likes...

I've ordered from Y Glass also and have had no problems with their fulfillment or items purchased from them.

I'm wondering if the 90 COE reference just meant not to use this particular glass, since it's 96 COE with the other? But then..I don't have a kiln, so no point of reference for me.

just went to spectrum web site, if you scroll down, the spirit glass can be found.  I do not see one piece of it with either the number 96 or 90 behind it, but it is listed with the 96 system glass

Since there is no look alike with this glass that should not be a problem!  I think it was, plain and simple, a typo.

It could have been a typo, but since people sometimes like to mix colors and this glass sort of lends itself to being paired with a solid color, it still makes me wonder if they were simply warning people not to attempt to mix COE 90 with COE 96?

Another subject about which I know squat, but I didn't see any reference to anyone making a call to Y-Glass. They have an 888 number.

Graham, exactly my thought.  I plan on calling them today.  I don't want to see them getting any more bad print over what I think is a type o.

Well my spirit glass order came today.

For anyone who has never seen this glass, unless the color description says that there is some clear in it, the back side of the glass is white.  So when you design something with this glass in mind keep this in mind, it will only be pretty from the front side.  I got 8 sheets and only the sodona came with the 96 coe compatibility sticker on it.
