It looks like a bad piece of Terrazzo flooring with way too many coats of old wax. I did take a pic which I will post before I toss it.
Venture forth Dragonfly and find a new place to rest....LOL

Pot melt it or cut it round and drop it. Those colors chips may look cool droped with a green bottom in it.

Kev, one thing we learned this summer was to put a REALLY light matte on and fire it. If it is too light, you can always put another matte on. It was HARD for me to make the mat light enough to suit Dick Millard, but it is possible. Maybe Judy can explain how!

I have no prob with the light matt. For this technique I purposely apply a heavy matt, but for other pieces I use lighter matts several times to achieve the desired effect.

I wasn't criticising, Kev - Dick Millard completely confused me because he said my mat was too dark. I added water and he said it was too wet. I'm glad he hasn't been watching me try to paint this week! (Although he would probably solve all my problems.)
