Yes, they do like it and it suits their dining room window very well, it will catch the sun late in the day.
Sorry Nancy, I missed the nugget question, yes they are! Some are iridized, some whispy.
The colors are reminiscent of the quartz found in Scotland, Amber and Amythyst, the topaz I leave to your imagination as the black patina is almost always bronze anyway!
Size? 14'' Macrame ring, sanded and tinned.  I'm really peeved that Walmart no longer have them, fingers crossed for Hobby Lobby to have them instore.

Problem with most rings today is that they are just brass plated steel (real cheap from China) and not good quality plating or steel either - not solid brass - need to take a magnet with you to make sure that they are really solid brass.

Cheap rings don't bother me, just that wallyworld no longer has them. I have never really seen the point of buying solid brass rings anyway [unless Graham is selling of his stash] My heat gun and a 320 grit sponge sanding block is all I need to prep a cheap plated ring for tinning.

These folks have to them on their online site up to 12" http://www.dickblick.com/products/large-gold-tone-welded-macrame-rings/
These folks have to them on their online site up to 19" http://www.acmoore.com/search.aspx?categoryid=345&phrase=&showall=true
Prices don't seem to be too bad - but then too I have not shopped for them in the past.

Tell us a little more about the stash.  I might need some of that.

He has very nice solid brass rings, and being environmentally aware, he ships in recycled packaging.

PS. I just noticed my reply to Alan and Wayne is missing, must have sent it into cyber-preview again, had thanked you for cyber shopping for me! So sweet of you!
Hobby Lobby are online and have them, a little cheaper I think. I have a store about 45mins away but not sure when I can get there.
