I made up one of Anne's focal patterns and it came out pretty sept I realized it was flashed glass after the fact, not a smart move on my part but I didn't even know I had it. This is a rose I made for hubby for his birthday on the 21'st and it looks totally different in the light

I have a visitor arriving today (my kids left yesterday after Christmas, so 'clean up' time now!) - can't wait to have some glassing time after 4th Jan......Itching to try some focals! Nice one, Barbara, - and a pretty rose!  |

Flash glass is a 2 layer glass with one color on one side and another color on the other side. Sometimes you will see cobalt blue flashed on clear with the blue etched out for lettering or design work, but there are a few other combos as well....not cheap stuff at all.

I have a few small pieces of flashed glass. It's expensive, so I just order a little when I need it.

Wow Barbara, nice job! It's neat to see how striking that focal piece is even though it's so few pieces! The rose is great, too! I'm sure your husband loved it!

I had never come across flashed glass before either and that is why I just used it. Just liked the color of it and it was from a buyout and never thought of flashed glass at all. Just two pieces were used and I saved the rest separate from the rest of my glass. Need to look and see if there is any more. Thanks for all the compliments.
