This is going to be my next endeavor. It will be 16 x 24" fused glass with painted detailing. The design pictured is merely for referencing placement of the different components. The colors used are also just to give a reference point. The treed area will be done with multicolored frit and my fav,...birch trees, to create a woodland scene....similar to the "Sense Of Vivaldi" series I did some time ago. The shadowed area below the eagle will be painted, muted, and softened with paint. The ellipse, where a fish will be..another reference point.

Thanks Di..it should be a fun piece to do. The process will be similar to the Bubblefishous piece, minus the frustration I hope...lol. It's a gift.

I remember when you first started designing that piece. It'll be a treat to see it done in glass!

It's lovely, your patterns are just so wonderful.  And I'm certain that this will be one outstandingly beautiful piece!  Can't wait to see it!

Now, this couldn't also be something you might like to ask GE to post eh???  Huh, Huh, huh???

LOL, De

This would be a hard one to ask GE to post, as it is not a truly structured pattern, as it will be fused, and cut lines are a different issue. Much of the design will come from painted detail and frit work, not so much the pattern itself.

hummmmm...would you be interested if I mentioned that they've highlighted fused work in the past???

Take a look at this...http://www.dfly.com/dotm/May2008.html

This is going to be very fun!

Just a thought. I like the water glass texture in your GE design. What if you placed tiny strips of fiber or used fiber paper (for its soft edges) under the full fuse of your original blank. It should retain the watery undulations if all you do is fire paint after that.

Well..today I finally got off my ass and started this piece. It's in the kiln now (Fingers crossed) Fingers Crossed 2

Here is the process in pics. The powder on the water is fine frit the same color as the water so I suspect it will disappear as it melts. I used it to fill in gaps around the eagle.

I ended up deciding to go with the light amber for the eagle to start with as I can always darken it as much as I need, but if I start too dark, I can't lighten it.
