Here are some photos from a bazaar I did 2 weeks ago. Sales are horrible up here. No tourists this summer to fill our piggy banks. So I don't have many hope for tomorrows bazaar even with low prices.

enjoy!

nice work Judy and I wish you luck.  My sales were really down last week too, although I did notice that people had no problem spending lots of money on junk food...........sigh.

Wow, what a nice selection of items you have. I love the clear Christmas trees with the wire work!  And the boxes are beautiful also..I noticed a number of really nice gifts there!  Well, here's hoping for a better show next time.  You just never know sometimes what kind of a turnout and how much people are willing to spend.

I found that I had to "price down" some stuff to get it to move. Some things I couldn't/wouldn't change the price on.

Tell us more about this show..have you done this one in the past?  Who puts the bazaare on.  Is it in a good location?, etc, etc.

Hi gang

Christmas  love this smiley. I ran dogs for 7 years. It is one of the most wonderful means of travel on the planet. Silence in the snow and the dogs are soooooooo happy! Picking up the dog poop in their yard gets old after a while though  embarrassed Especially during the spring thaw  omg

The show was a complete success. I came home late Sat night and posted some results at TAGF but it was to late to come here. Sunday is Sunday. So, excuse my lateness. I did not forget you, just tired.

I sold enough to cover about 1/4 of my new kiln cost . yippy! and the best part is I got rid of lots of glass that has been sitting around the shop waiting to get used. Many things that had been from former projects and failed.

The clear Christmas trees were made with old float glass from my green house windows. The windows came from the old coal mine my Husband grew up near and his father worked at. Now the mine has moved and the old area has almost been reclaimed by brush and trees. We built a huge green house with some of the shop windows. Last winter the high winds knocked a 12 pane panel on the ground. Many panes broke so I put the glass from each pane in separate buckets so they would successfully fuse together. I turned them in to bowls and trees. Historical/ hysterical Healy stuff. It has had a good response.

This week I turned another broken project into aurora ornaments. The ring was originally supposed to go around the light in the ceiling above the tabernacle at church, above my mosaic. But I dropped it  sad Now it is beautiful ornaments.

These little snow flakes were a nightmare to build! It was like playing Jenga with glass chips that had an attitude.

The red Christmas trees came from a bowl I made years ago and broke during slumping. I had refused it and that caused it to loose it's texture and take on a weird scar. I hated it so it waited as potential on a shelf.

This week I took my collapsible tree. I made it with copper tubing and hang it from a music stand base. Then wrapped it with thin green garland. It's light and easy to transport.

This week I also started some "Glass Art" . Most folks are used to me showing up for 20 years with watercolor and oil paintings. So I started some paintings with glass. Combining fusing and traditional painting, but I did not finish any of them in time. So I took them unfininshed and used pen to show where they were headed. the 2 blue ones sold . I will get the finished products to them soon.

LOL, Judy I'd just love to give dog sledding a try.  Not with mine, they'd freeze to death, not that they aren't energetic enough to give it a go...but they'd probably look funny in their little Bean boots and winter coats pulling the sled.  I can identify with the Spring thaw comment...ugh, four dogs.

Your bowl is beautiful and I love the Aurora ornaments, how beautiful!

It's great that you were able to repurpose glass from other projects or buildings!  Those Xmas trees were very cute!
omg the paintings on glass are gorgeous!  And also that bowl, wow.  I like your Christmas tree idea, the branches on a fake tree tend to hide the ornaments somewhat..your's allows the customer to see the ornaments clearly.  Nice!

I'm glad to hear that you had a great show, are you planning on doing anymore before the holiday?

Great job and Congratulations!

A close up of the fireweed

And the beginings of the Ptarmigan. He has many firings to go still. Now that the base and a little white powdered frit are fired in I plan to do a full rendering in black and browns. I can't wiat to get him finished.

I also sold this beer bottle plate. I knew one bottle could not be fused to another but thought my odds would increase if the bottles all came from the same six pack. So I crushed and fused. It worked and I liked being able to see bottom and ring tops from the bottles in the six sided plate

Hi De,

I used to run all over the state for weeks selling paintings. Now I only do the two near home and they are finished for this year. The good shows in Fairbanks are completed also. I am not set up to be the traveling showgirl anymore. You need a younger body to be successful and draw a crowd worth the effort, giggle.

I may put the remaining ornaments in the local coffee shop again. She does well for me at 30%. The shop in town wants 40% and that cuts into it being profitable or just giving away my time.

And I have many projects that need to be done for folks by Christmas.

I hear ya on the show thing..I did two this year and contemplated a third..but the setting up..I'm going to have to pay a younger body to help me with that the next show I do.

Your paintings are fabulous! I really like them alot!

And I'm playing hooky for the moment from the projects upstairs in the shop I need to get done and get out to people.  I never expected to take orders for the things I took to the shows..but here I go.  And I've got a few Christmas presents I still have yet to do.

Better get crackin!  De

Judy, happy to hear that you had a successful show.  I can't do many shows any more either, they really knock me for a loop even with help setting them up and breaking them back down

With your talent I was sure you would do well.  You go girl

I see fireweed!  Is that the man in the moon or the rabbit in the moon?

Correct you are! If you are standing on your head in Australia it is the rabbit in the moon. Ha, ha, ha. Do you see the ears?
