Lorton Arts Workhouse

There's a new source of glass training for people in the Northern Va area.  At the Lorton Arts Center (used to be the old prison), the Workhouse (where the prisoners used to sleep) has been converted to studio and classroom space.  One of the buildings is devoted to glass and offers terrific classes.  The biggest problem is finding enough people to sign up.  Go to lortonarts.org, click on workhouse, and then look at the course registration page.  The teachers are top-notch.
