here is the commission piece I will be starting soon.  Can't take credit for the pattern, it was in an old book I have, and the man decided he liked it best.  I think he liked the name I gave it lol

here are a few glasses that I am considering using parts from.  the last one: the area towards the top is not brown, it is part of the top section of the window lol.

all these glasses are youghi

Pity that last one is irdz. 'Minds me of an early start out of Sydney Harbor when we should have done a night sail to get home!

Will you be using the 1634sp for the water and the 1176sp for the sky?  What are your plans for the sails?

not sure yet Wayne.  I will be using parts of the glasses, but not sure how yet.  I would like some romance in the sky, so I think I want some of the pink for sure, so yes I guess, but laying it out, will tell me I think.  I also would like some sort of darker area on the right side of the boat to represent some shadow of sorts

there is another piece I have that I would like to put into the sky around the sun area that I couldn't put my hands on when I was taking the pictures, that is youghi too

Looks nice, but from a technical sailing point of view, that sail position will not drive the boat forward - which I believe is what would be the desired direction. rolleyes

I like the dark purples of the 1634 as a compliment color to the yellows in the evening sky of the last irid piece of yellow glass. It could be stunning. The sails would then appear light purple against the bright yellow sky too. Your mind would tell you the sails are white.

Graham , could the sails be in that position to stop or slow the boat to enjoy the sunset a bit longer? Rather that the artist did not do their homework  grin

I like the 1634sp for the water..I'd try to cut it so that the darker purple/greens would be to the right of the boat, as the shadow on the water I think.

I'm undecided on the sky..I'm not sure I'd use iridized for the sky, maybe the setting sun tho..I too like the 1176sp.  And I'd use white or light gray for the sails.

I knew Graham would hop in there, I made the same mistake on a birthday cake, had the yacht running under full sail into shore! Too many cooks nips I guess!
I aggree with De on the Ird.  Mylar and Kevlar sails do have a golden hue but they ain't quite iridized!

It is still on the work bench, waiting for me.  The gentlemen asked me to delay finishing it and I wasn't in any hurry because of my health.  Good thing about glass, it doesn't go bad, so when I am up to it, it will get finished.

Thanks Marsha
