Here's a fairly easy project that can have as much "wow" as you want it to have. Recently another glasser reminded me of a project sheet from the System96 website.  http://www.system96.com/FuseLibrary/FusedProjectGuides/ClassicPlaid.pdf

By changing the colors, sizes of the stripes and set up you have limitless possibilities. I chose to do this one in 3 shades of green...medium, light and olive. The plaid is more subtle but very cool!

I reeeeally like the plaid plate idea!

That's definatly on my next to do:) Dan and I are making a glass run to Hoy's on Monday (leaving tomorrow) and have just ordered some glass to give one a try.
Thanks Becki!  Friends

I think I'll do the colours in the glass example first and then do a red one as a second attempt.
It would be fun to do a search on the Net for the classic plaid colour combos as well.
Nova Scotia eh Kev? Does your family have a plaid Tartan?

Oh I never thought of a family tartan? My husband is a descendant of the Bruce clan (on his mothers side) I guess I should look up the plaid, it might make a very meaningful gift.

Thanks for the idea Nancy.

Thanks for the idea Nancy.

Love the family tartan idea:) My father's side of the family is from Nova Scotia, but there's no Scottish in his mix - mainly from England.
Looking forward to see if you find a Bruce clan tartan Linde!
Tommorow, I'm goin' to hand pick some glass with that fusing project in mind:)

Becki? Can you take a pic of your plate so that the light passes through it? What colours did you use? Blue, green and navy?

It's a blast!

They remind me of those Hudson Bay wool blankets.
