I have been practicing my  painting a bit.

This is MaryRita, my niece. The glass is 4"x4" . The shadow box is almost 2" deep. In the back of the box I used gold mirror with a waterglass texture. Then a piece of clear irid waterglass running the opposite direction. The painting is then set over an inch above this mirror. The light really bounces around in the box and makes beautiful little colored lights on the back or inside of the face. Quite heavenly.

Oh Judy, this is absolutely beautiful!  I like the play of light in the photos and imagine that in person it is even better!    Great job!!!

Thanks Nancy, I liked the original sketch better. I am still learning to totally control the paint. I like doing the matts and shading, but the line work still leaves room for improvement. I think it would be easier if I were working larger. If I find time tomorrow I will post a picture of the original sketch.
