My light table is is now finished. I put a flip top lid on it which makes for more work space when not in use. Oops I notice I left the cover off of the section where the ballast boxes are. also some goodies on it to see how it works

Nice glass work! I love the idea of the flip top light box. I want to remake mine to be part of the workspace as well, but be able tilt it up on an angle like an easel and have natural light come through it when working the paint.

I agree! Nice work Ian. Super job on the paintings. Do you have a place to show and sell your work?

Very nice, I like multi function! Love your artwork and really need your gecko in my collection!
I'm too lazy to build a light table, I bought a glass desk and reversed the keyboard tray.

If you can get hold of an old flat scanner it make very nice A4 size lightbox that is easy to carry around. It is also useful as a light source for photographing glass

True confession, I tape my original pattern (if it is
larger than photo copy paper) to my patio
window and make my back up by tracing it. There
is something in carbon paper that I am allergic to
so this was my way of getting around that problem.

Where does one even find carbon paper any more? I couldn't find any in Staples or Wal-Mart.

Great looking light table Ian.

Audrey, Dick Blick carries a few transfer type papers, here is a link to their website, http://www.dickblick.com/search/?sp_q=carbon+paper&Image1.x=0&Image1.y=0

There are not many places selling carbon paper anymore.

The letter size pencil carbon paper can be found here:

For larger approx 2 x 3 size can be found here

The light table is a wonderful idea, particularly if you need to maximize work space.  I like all of the items on your light table, but I must say those head studies are wonderful!  Beautiful work.

De
Thank you for the kind comments. The head studies are approx 1inch x1 inch and are part of an ongoing experiment with
laser printed decals fired onto window glass. Maybe I should start a thread on this subject.

Yes that would be an interesting thread I think you should definitely start a thread about it Ian.

Also..a question not related to the glass...or even the light table..what a cute puppy on your avatar...what is he/she?  I've four dogs in my house right now..my son's and three others that are mine..obviously a dog lover.  He's very cute!
