I made and donated these to our local cancer treatment center. My husband was undergoing radiation following his surgery for prostate cancer earlier this year. The receptionist asked him if I could make a pink ribbon for breast cancer, which I did, then decided to make the sky blue one for prostate cancer to honor him and the many men going through the same thing.

that was very nice of you Grechen.  You did a great job on them too.  I didn't realize that they used a blue ribbon for prostate cancer.  I wish you hubby a speedy recovery and good health.  We will be sure to keep in him in our prayers.

very nice Gretchen! - and a nice gesture too.  Actually there are a lot of ribbon colors that denote different cancers.  Just saw it somewhere lately - but I'm sure someone here has it at their fingertips and will post it for all of us.

Yes, hope your hubby is alright now!

One thing I forgot to mention, right after I make sky blue ribbon for prostate cancer our middle daughter was diagnosed with thyroid disease and upon removal of the thyroid it was found cancerous, so the sky blue ribbon has a double meaning for our family. Let me just say I hope with all my heart 2010 brings us a little better luck than 2009 has.

Great job Gretchen! Cancer touched my family this year as well. I lost a sister-in-law to ovarian and cervix cancer. I too hope 2010 is much brighter than this horrible year has been....let's keep our fingers crossed.

Very nice, I like the Pink ird. I made some too but couldn't find any other pink but System 96, what did you use?

Yvonne there's a gorgeous English Muffle pink - Cranberry #4913.  Expensive, but it's wonderful glass.  I also have a Bullseye piece that's an irrid - a darker pink, the number is BE1131.31.

Thanks Anne, filed for the future, I want that iridized!
I do have some Bullseye cranberry but not iridized, I wanted an opal so ended up with the Spectrum 96.
They did have something else but it was transparent and so close to the Armstrong I also have.
