Now that I have the oxy con lined up, I am looking at torches.  I don't want to spend to much, but I want a decent torch.  I have read a little and found that the GTT cricket is well liked.  What is the general thought or recommendation here?

Everyone that's gotten a Cricket is in love with it. Everyone that's gotten a Mega Minor is in love with it. They are both very good torches for Effetre and small Boro. They are both built to work efficiently with not much oxygen, they do wonders on an oxy/con delivering 5lpm. They do spectacularly on tanked oxygen.

Although I would say even medium size boro with the right oxy/con, delivering at least 8lpm or tanked oxygen.

I dissagree, the mega minor is an oxy hog.  A small concentrator will not run that torch well.

I have one. I use an M15 (8lpm) use to have tanked oxygen and didn't notice much of a difference when I switched to the oxy con.

I have a 15 as well, I was referring to the smaller oxycons.  Anything smaller won't run that torch well. sad

Now that I have the oxycon lined up and ordered the GTT Cricket, let's talk setup.  I would think that the safest way to go is for the propane tank to be outside.  Is this the general concesous, or not?  If I put the tank outside, what is the best way to run the tubing?  By that I mean is it possible/feasable to run the tubing so that the gauges are in the basement and not mounted on the tank?  Any info regarding setup would be of great value at this point.

Thanks
