Why not try tin foil shiny side up as a trial before buying mirror tile..much cheaper, and I bet you already have it.

Is this the U bulb you were talking about Rebecca?

I found some info in good ol' Wiki. I'll see if I can sort through some of it.

No, I don't think that's the same bulb.  When I read this earlier, I went to take a picture of mine and got sidetracked by some glass that needed to be cut and before I knew it I forgot all about it and I'm home with no picture!  Somebody remind me tomorrow and I will try to do better.

LOL sometimes the greatest cost saving ideas are generated on here!  Phew!  Great idea Kev. LOL.

Nancy..are you familiar with Digby, or Parrsboro?  Just wondering.  Had relatives in both places, in some case there still are relatives there.  Particularly the Digby area.

Good luck with this project..and remember...pictures. LOL

Yes!!!! I know of those places and wouldn't ya know it, I have some pics! They probably don't belong in this thread, but I'll show you some anyway. Strange that I don't have any of Parrsboro but here's some from Digby.
I ADORED Digby Neck. Ever hear of that place?

Fist pic is a hoot...hehehe...my first giggle of the morning - sorry:)

LOL, that's great Nancy..yes I've heard of Digby Neck.  I'm thinking that is where the cemetary is that many of the Ellis relatives are buried.  I got a big hoot out of your "Expose yourself" picture..the way one story goes, one of the first Ellis's..might have been Ells, that far back was taken in and raised by the family that took care of the lighthouse in Digby...maybe Digby Neck..not sure how many lighthouses there are there.

Thanks for posting the pictures..I'm hopeful that next summer I'll actually go there.  I also found out very recently that the Irish/Scottish connections are all buried in Parrsboro where they lived.  I have a very strong urge to go there and see for myself....and of course do more research.

Not to hi-jack the thread, I'll leave it be.  But thanks much for posting the pics..how terrific that you have a few from there!

Hugs, De
