Hi all,  I hope I've got this right! (given that I am I.T. challenged!)  Just to show you what I mean when I say I works 'small'.  When I first saw a glass whirl (from Debra Aubin)  in a Glass Quartely I just knew that was what I wanted to do!!  Loved the idea of light through different combinations of coloured glass as it turned!   Although I have all three of her books, I generally create my own mini worlds!   What can I say,  I never grew up and I love fantasy!
If this works, - I'll post more pics - promise , Nancy!
Um - don't see the pic on the preview - what have I missed? Stuff Happens

Big smile here:) Way to go and that's a really nice whirly piece.

Now when you get a chance, show them one of your 'rooters'. grin

There's nothing "small" about that!!!!

Way Cool!!! Would love to see more.

If you don't want to put them in a thread, you can put them in a gallery (let us know if you need help setting one up)

Very very well done Beth.  Doing one of those is a great accomplishment my dear.  With all the considerations in doing a piece like that, you should be very proud of yourself.  More please.

Tonight I was looking around for a new project to do and then I remembered the whirly.
Maybe I am not using the write words but I wasn't able to come up with any on-line
instructions.

Can anyone offer help?

Did not find any instructions, but perhaps you could contact the owner of this site http://www.whirlwindglass.com/whirls.htm
You may also want to try http://www.glass-source.com/shop/popup.cgi?shopCart_id=207&cat1_2=5 - almost at the bottom of the page:
Dancing colors—Creating a 3-D Glass Whirl Pattern
Design by Deborah Aubin
A 7-1/2"x 7-3/4" three-dimensional suncatcher with violet and yellow Waterglass® and iridescent clear granite flowers surrounded by rings of pale blue Waterglass.

Thank you for trying Alan.
I did try to see if I could find an email address to write to
but in the end I came up with another idea.

I saved a photo for reference and I've zoomed in on the center.
I will just wing it and see how I do.

Winging it is pretty much how you do it.  You can build a jig out of glass to get the rings at the same angles, but after they are all together, you just add the inside stuff however it looks best.
