Thank you all for the nice welcome. My name is Gretchen, I live in northern NY along the St. Lawrence River. My husband and I have a small hobby farm on our 86 acres, we have 13 Morgan horses, 4 alpacas, 3 dogs, 1 cat and a parrot along with 5 grandkids. I have been doing stained glass for about 2 years now, I'm self taught and still learning. I fell in love with it the very first time I tried it. I have watched a couple other forums over the past year and decided this was the one I wanted to be actively involved in. Again thank you for the warm welcome.

Hello Gretchen!
I too am self taught, and I live in Montreal which is an island (a lot of people don't realize that) in the St. Lawrence river.

Welcome Gretchen. I'm on the west coast (Washington), so I'm always three hours late on the conversations.

Thanks for all the nice comments. Yes, we do have a "few" animals and nights when it's about 20 below and I'm chipping ice out of the water buckets I ask myself why, but the answer is always the same, I love It. They give you a piece of mind and pleasure you can't find anywhere else...except with glass!!

Hi Gretchen, I'm glad you decided joined us. We have fun here and learn a lot from each other. We love pictures so when you have time we would love to see some of your work.
I live about 5 miles from the coast in New Hampshire. I haven't signed in much lately, we live in and take care of a small apple orchard and are in the middle of our busy season...soon the trees will be bare and then I will be able to play with glass again.

Welcome to AOG from sunny and , land of cacti, coyotes and tumbleweeds . Actually in our area there are a couple of places where they have a few Alpacas, but mostly horses and cattle, even a few old fashioned long horn cattle - and a smattering of Brahmas as well.

Welcome Gretchen! Oh goodie, another animal lover..I've had a multitude of horses, but not 13 all at once..I'm horseless at the moment..but hoping that won't last indefinitely..I also have four dogs and a cat, not quite as animal dependant as I was. But where there's life there's hope right??
I live in the Northeast..Maine, so I'm sure this winter we'll all be gripeing (lol) about the winter weather.
You'll enjoy it here, everyone is tremendously helpful! So don't hesitate if you have questions about something you're attempting to do, this group is great about sharing knowledge.
Welcome again! De
