Great job, Anne!  Hey, I was going to make some and take pictures to explain a little better, but I never got around to it.  I'm glad you understood and went ahead with it.  I don't have many original thoughts, but this bird was original and might be the best I ever had!  I'm glad to see somebody use it.  You can probably come up with different ways to do it and make different birds.  I always thought I would try one with shorter wings and maybe it would look like a swan swimming.  Let me see them if you try others!

I probably will make more Rebecca, thanks, and the next ones will likely have irrid wings.  Just didn't have any irrid to try it with! I knew it was your original idea and it was good of you to share it with us.  I much prefer to making things that you won't find everywhere else. A lot of what I do is original and I've posted some of that work on the forum.

Rebecca and I thank you all.  Yes they're fun and easy to make, those of you with kilns should give them a try. I did make one small change though - I made the birds' tail wider and his neck and head as well. I did find when I used non-fusible glass that the glass 'shrunk in on itself' more so if I do another with non fusible glass I'll make the birds head and neck wider again. Just an fyi!

Since Anne did all the work, I didn't think about saying thank you, so thank YOU Anne for saying thank you for me!  I don't think I took mine to a FULL-full fuse when I put the body and the wings together, so I didn't have a neck problem.  But looking at yours, I see the problem and I think I like the FULL-full fuse.

I missed Rebecca's birds (I'll go look for them)
Anne those candle holders are as Tom said very cool!

How about a pair of matching birds, or a flock of
blackbirds?

a flock of blackbirds?

A flock of four and twenty, perhaps. Maybe baked in a pie.
