I have been thinking of upgrading to a big boys torch.  I have found and O2 concentrator for $50.00.  It has a 5 L/min flow rate.  Is this sufficient for a torch?

Depends a lot on the torch, which one are you thinking?
Depends on the hours left of the oxy/con, which brand is it and how many hours does it have?

I bought it.  What the heck.  The same unit new runs about $799.00.  The people swear that it has been used very little.  I'll take the chance for only $50.00.  I have a trip planned the middle of next month to the Pittsburgh area and I'll pick it up then.

Way to go! Nice score!

For $50 it's most definitely worth the chance. Also, if it needs a tune up it won't be anywhere near what you would pay for this unit new.

That's what I was thinking.  Plus, the machine is fairly simple and I am very mechanical.  I can probably do the maintenance myself if I can get any required parts.

I have no idea what is required to update, configure or overhaul an oxy/con. I suspect there should be some info out there. But if you are mechanical, shouldn't be too hard.
