This will be my next project. Just awaiting the arrival of the tray mold. This project will be in 2 pieces. A small orange bowl will be made as well to sit on the center of the flower to act as the cup of the flower, and function as a sauce bowl for dips and such, or the tray can be used without it.

The cup idea is great. I have  a fondness for trays, so will really be looking forward to seeing this project come to life.

what a good idea Kev. Are you contour fusing or putting it into a full fuse?

Ooh...Good Idea!

I may have to modify my thought on the Jonquil tray as when I received the mold..it's not as big as I thought it would be because of a wide rim the encircles it, thereby decreasing the actual usable space for thinks to be placed in the tray. Trying to place a bowl on it of a size that functional would not leave a lot of room for other food.....so...until I get an even larger tray it might be a no go for the bowl idea...I'll have to play with it on my days off and see what I can come up with.

I've scraped the Jonquil tray and decided to do with this instead....a retro 60's look. I also played with a bit of Dichroic glass and black today and tried my hand at 2 pendants. I used a black base with Dichroic, and capped in clear. I have no idea how these will fare, but..we will see. They are all in currently starting to fuse.

The results ....

I love the way the tray piece slightly spread giving it a slight wavy edge...it will be slumped into the tray mold today.

The pendants....the process is still something to play with, though love the play of light and color on them.

I like the tray too Kev and love the pendants.  Next time you do the pendants try not taking the dicro right to the edge of the black then when you fire the clear will have a better chance of blending into the black and giving you a smoother edge.
