Easy answer to that question...design your own. There's great enjoyment in that aspect of glass work as well.

1.  I buy more pattern books
2.  I try new things like 3D projects (candle holders, business card holders) and the ring thing

That darned stick....LOL

Another option as well is to combine elements from several or a few patterns into one pattern to make a unique pattern.

I agree. I try to do that. Plus go look at patterns you like and make some changes or additions to it.  Voila, a new pattern!

A good habit to try to get into when you're looking at things, whether it be an ornament or a picture (or whatever) is to ask yourself 'what can I do with this in glass'. Go look at art stamps, sometimes you can get some fun ideas from them too.

I do get bored because I do a lot of repetitive stuff for the shows but I remind myself how much I like getting the money for all these things I do!  I find my happy place while I'm doing all that repetitive stuff and it's not so bad.

I sit with my pattern books looking at them for hours sometimes, instead of TV and never find myself bored with the possibilites

Like Kev said use parts of different patterns to come up with a new idea.  Combine other elements into a piece, like add some beaded attachments or charms.  So some wire work over the top of a flower to add demension, or think up new ways to frame a piece.  I found a site that sells retail glass, that I found some new twists on the framing of simple panels.  Not commenting on the workmenship, of the glass work, just pointing out I liked the presentation and the framing.  There were several unusual items, that I have never seen done before.  Here is the link

Be off w'you lassie! Get up to Scotland early and spend a few days in Glasgow drooling over the Mackintosh and MacDonald museums and other stuff. While you're up there buy a Spurtle, very useful item to have!
